Configuring Responder
Network Adapter for DMS v2 (MultiSpeak)

This implementation of Network Adapter as well as MultiSpeak 3.0 is necessary to support real-time integration of Responder with DMS and/or OASyS.

Follow the steps below to configure Network Adapter to work with DMS. Network Adapter provides DMS with NormalStatus information from the GIS database. Data is exported from a GIS database that uses a MultiSpeak or Electric Data Model. Network Adapter puts it into a MultiSpeak-compliant XML and imports it into DMS.

Step 5: Create Relationships

Step 6: Add Model Names

Step 7: Assign Model Names and Autoupdaters

Step 8: Configure NetworkAdapter.exe.config

Step 9: Pipeline Rules - Enable Pipeline Rules - Splitting Units

Step 10: Validate XML

This implementation requires data that follows the MultiSpeak data model or the Electric Distribution data model. The steps in this section add tables and attributes that follow the Electric Distribution data model.

Exporting De-Energized Features

If you're attempting to export de-energized features that may be energized by multiple feeders, the export results may not be what you expect. De-energized features with multiple possible features will always be exported only with the feeder that has the lowest FeederID value (the first value that occurs alpha-numerically).

For example, a section of de-energized features may be energized by feeders 4, 9, and 12. You will NOT see these de-energized features in an export of feeders 9 or 12. You will see these de-energized features only when exporting feeder 4.

Multifeeds

Multifeeds, mesh networks, and any other electric networks with loops are not supported. Network Adapter assumes the network is radial and each element in a feeder has a single upstream source.
